Frequently asked questions

Everything trade buyers, importers, and producers tend to ask about working with Monarca Vino — how we source, who we sell to, and how to start a conversation.

I

About Monarca Vino

Who we are and what drives the way we build the portfolio.

What is Monarca Vino?

Monarca Vino is an Italian wine export, wholesale, and distribution company built to help trade buyers access a curated portfolio of Italian wines with real market potential.

What is the main goal of Monarca Vino?

To make Italian wine easier to source, easier to understand, and easier to sell across international markets.

What does “Built to Sell” mean?

It means we select wines with real market logic: clear identity, strong quality, and the kind of appeal that helps them move through the channel — not just look good on a list.

What does “Made in Italy. Built for the World.” mean?

Our wines are authentically Italian, but our approach is global. We position them for success across different markets, cultures, and trade channels.

Why is storytelling part of your sales strategy?

Because buyers don’t just purchase wine — they buy origin, identity, and confidence. A strong story helps a wine stand out and sell better.

II

Who we sell to & markets

The accounts we serve and the regions where we focus our distribution.

Who do you sell to?

We work with importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, hospitality groups, restaurants, bars, and wine-focused accounts that want distinctive Italian wines with strong commercial appeal.

What markets do you serve?

We focus on the USA, Europe, Asia, and Latin America — including key markets such as Mexico and other growth-driven countries across the region.

Why is the USA important?

The US market offers scale, variety, and strong demand for Italian wines across retail, hospitality, and distribution channels.

Why is Europe important?

Europe is both a core wine region and an important trade market for established and emerging importers, retailers, and hospitality accounts.

Why is Latin America important?

Latin America is a growing opportunity for Italian wine, especially in markets that value heritage, quality, and wines with strong identity.

Which Asian markets are most important to you?

Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea are key markets for us — particularly for wines that offer elegance, consistency, and strong food-pairing value.

III

Portfolio & producers

How the portfolio is built, who is in it, and why regional identity matters.

How many producers do you represent?

We represent over 300 wineries drawn from every region of Italy — from the alpine vineyards of Alto Adige and the great estates of Piedmont and Tuscany, through Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, down to Campania, Puglia, and the islands of Sicily and Sardinia.

That breadth means a buyer can source across virtually every major denomination, style, and price tier through a single relationship — while each producer is still individually selected for quality, identity, and commercial fit. It lets us match the right wine to the right market and channel, from an everyday by-the-glass pour to a prestige listing, without sending buyers to a dozen different suppliers.

How do you keep a portfolio that size focused?

Even with 300+ wineries spanning the whole country, we curate by market and channel — so within any given territory a buyer sees a focused, non-overlapping selection rather than an overwhelming list. That keeps each producer in proper focus and avoids unnecessary overlap.

What makes your portfolio different?

It is selective, story-driven, and commercially focused. Every wine is chosen for quality, identity, and its ability to perform with the right buyer and in the right channel.

Do you offer wines for different price points?

Yes. Our portfolio is designed to cover multiple market levels — from accessible everyday wines to premium and prestige selections — depending on the account and territory.

Are your wines only for premium buyers?

No. We work across multiple segments, from accessible wines to premium placements, depending on the market and the account.

What regions of Italy do you represent?

We represent wines from across Italy, including Tuscany, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and other regions that each bring their own specialty and commercial value.

Why are the regions important?

Italian wine is regional by nature. Each area has a different identity, and that regional character helps us build a stronger, more distinctive portfolio for the market.

What kind of wineries do you look for?

Producers with quality, consistency, and a story worth telling. Family-run estates and regional specialists are especially aligned with our philosophy.

IV

Buying & catalogue

How orders work and how to navigate the site’s trade pages.

Can I buy by the carton?

Yes. Wholesale orders are generally sold by the carton, with standard packaging at 6 units per carton unless otherwise specified.

How is the Shop page organized?

The Shop page is built like a trade catalogue, with wines grouped by style — red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert — so it’s easy to browse and compare.

Why is your shop organized by category?

Because buyers shop by need. A clear structure saves time and helps retail, hospitality, and wholesale buyers find the right wines faster.

Do you provide tasting notes?

Yes. We include short, useful tasting notes that help buyers understand a wine’s character, style, and fit for the market.

What is on the Portfolio page?

It gives a sample view of the wines we work with, including short descriptions and positioning notes to help buyers understand each label quickly.

What can I expect from the Our Regions page?

It explains the regions we work with, the styles they produce, and why they matter for buyers looking for wines with a clear origin story and strong category fit.

What can I expect from the Our Producers page?

You’ll see the wineries and brands we partner with, along with an overview of the kind of producers we believe in: family-driven, quality-focused, and built for long-term growth.

V

How we move wine from Italy to international markets.

Do you help with international distribution?
